Masonry Restoration Assistant
Help Complete Historic Masonry Restoration Projects
Work With K.B. Masonry
-
I’m hiring a Masonry Restoration Assistant to help with the day-to-day work on historic masonry restoration projects. This is a hands-on support role, not a lead mason job, and not fine detail repointing work at first. Your primary focus will be setting up, supporting, and cleaning up each project so skilled restoration work can be done correctly. As you learn the process, prove yourself, and take on more responsibility, this role can grow with you. If you’re willing to learn, follow directions, and take pride in doing things the right way, this is a solid opportunity to grow with a small, hands-on historic masonry restoration business.
-
$25/hour during the first 2 weeks of training.
$32/hour for the first 90 days after training.
Up to $37/hour once fully trained, working independently, and handling all Masonry Restoration Assistant responsibilities the right way.
Opportunities to earn more by following systems, doing the job right consistently, and taking on more responsibility.
-
This role has variable hours and days based on project needs and weather conditions. Most weeks range from 25 to 40 hours, Monday through Saturday, with the workday typically starting at 8:00 AM and ending once daily project goals and targets are met. This position may be part-time or full-time, depending on availability, performance, and project workload.
-
Success in this role means the project is fully ready before I arrive, so I can focus only on repointing and fine detail work. Once I leave, you handle everything else needed to keep the restoration moving forward.
Set up, prepare, and clean up the job site each day so work can start right away.
Wash the masonry, remove old mortar, protect surrounding areas, and prepare the wall for work.
Set up, adjust, and take down scaffolding and wall protection safely and correctly.
Drive a company truck to and from job sites and treat it like it’s your own - keep it organized, loaded, and clean.
Prepare the materials and mix the mortar exactly as shown for each project.
Get the masonry ready for repointing, wash the surfaces, and stage the next work area.
While repointing is happening, keep tools, materials, and the next section ready, so work keeps moving.
Clean behind finished work to keep the site safe, clean, and professional.
Handle end-of-day cleanup, tool washing, trash removal, and setting up for the next day.
Pick up, load, and unload materials when needed.
Take progress photos and speak up right away if something needs to be fixed or improved.
Follow training, systems, and instructions exactly - details matter here.
Once you're trained, take full responsibility for handling these tasks on your own.
This role isn’t for everyone, but if you take pride in doing things right and want real responsibility, you’ll fit in well here.

This role is set up so that the project is fully prepared before I arrive. I focus only on repointing and fine detail work, and once I leave, you handle everything else needed to keep the restoration moving. At first, success means you can handle the setup, support, and cleanup work on your own without being reminded. After about 90 days, growth looks like being trusted with more responsibility, fewer check-ins, and smoother job days overall. Over time, as the business grows and you grow with it, you take on more ownership of the restoration process, earn more trust, and open the door to higher pay and more opportunities, all by doing the basics right and consistently.
-
Comfortable working on your own once trained.
Okay with physical, hands-on outdoor work.
Willing to learn and improve, even when something feels new or challenging.
Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
Takes instructions seriously and follows them step by step.
Pays attention to details and doesn’t rush through work.
Shows up on time and does what they say they’re going to do.
Takes pride in being professional and keeping tools, the job site, and the truck clean.
Speaks up when something doesn’t look right or when unsure.
Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Previous masonry or construction experience is helpful, but not required. What matters most is attitude, reliability, and a willingness to do things the right way.

💼 Get trained step by step with clear expectations so you always know what to do.
🏛️ You’ll work on real historic homes doing meaningful work that provides you with a sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, and pride in your work.
🔥 Earn more trust, responsibility, and better pay as you prove yourself and grow.
🎯 Be part of a small, well-run business that values professionalism, craftsmanship, and doing things right.
